La Diablada Dance Performance

Join us on Friday, October 29 for a dance performance with the Bolivian Diablada Socio Cultural Foundation at La Cosecha!

La Diablada is the symbol of the Oruro Carnival, a festival declared in 2001 Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO). La Diablada is one of the most colorful and original dances in Bolivia, these characteristics have made it very popular beyond our borders. It originated in the colony as a representation of the fight between good and evil, which is the fight between the Archangel Saint Michael, accompanied by the Seven Virtues, and Lucifer, backed by the Seven Deadly Sins. Currently, Lucifer and the Devils are led by the Archangel, victorious in combat, while the China Supay dance in dynamic lines and the figures of the Condor and the Andean Bear show off their skill in dance.
