Experience the passion of Argentine tango in all its dimensions—dance, lyrics, and music—in a virtual program screened at La Cosecha on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.
Tango Mercurio dancers Ramu Pyreddy, Simone Pinheiro, Flora Le, and Francisco Reyes demonstrate the social tango that people have been dancing in Buenos Aires and around the world for over a hundred years; tango historian S. Alexandra Russell delves into the lyrics and stories of four of the most beloved tangos; and musician-composer Emmanuel Trifilio performs his own contemporary arrangements on bandoneon and guitar.
An in-person Q&A with the artists caps off the program.
